Everyone’s saying LOTR but if it truly was LOTR, where’s Frodo, Gandalf, or Sam? Like none of the characters were there. I think it’s more fantasy.

I think the characters would have gave it away.. from what I understood, all of the games discreetly pointed at the title “Lord of the Rings”. For example, Lord Voldemort, put a ring on it, The Ring, Andy Serkis (who plays Gollum), the creatures from Tolkien’s world. I think it’s clearly LOTR

i was thinking this bc of sleepy hallow, the ring, etc. i can see it being a specific subgenre like having to acquire a specific object but that felt too clunky of a concept so i went with fantasy!
